    Internet Island Topic Post #14.00

Welcome to Internet Island Topic Post  #14. The last topic generated 25 entries, 10 more than the previous entry, but still not “enough” considering the amount of “Islanders” in the ring. (Over 125) Hopefully this topic will seem more interesting and we’ll get more participation. Also, I’d like to emphasize again that if you write a Topic Entry, please check the header at the top of my blog regularly for new participants, and please visit them and comment.

The Topic Post will last approximately two weeks. Please enter the link or date of your Internet Island Topic Entry for this post in a comment here. If you are creating a link, make sure you link to the page with the “comments” box and not the page with five entries. (HERE IS A TUTORIAL ABOUT HOW TO MAKE LINKS.) The purpose of Internet Island Topic Posts is to help get the members of the Internet Island Blogring to exchange comments and get to know each other. Please check back periodically for new entries throughout the two week period. The link for the current entry is always at the top of the page of this blog under the header for easy access. If you post a topic entry, please make an attempt to visit the other Islanders who do so as well. It is also a good idea to post the link to the Topic Entry in your own entry so that other interested parties can come here. You can copy/paste the Topic Post links right here in this entry into your own weblog entry box.

First and Last Books, 4th of July Memories, Clowns

14.01: Can you remember the first five books you ever read? What were they, who wrote them, why did you read them, and what did you get from them? Write about the books you either read at your home, or from the library, not school text books. If you can’t remember 5, then perhaps write about the first 3 or 4. You could also write about the last five books you read, with the same questions. If you don’t want to write about books, then list the five first or last movies you’ve seen, or albums (CD’s) to which you’ve listened.

14.02: The 4th of July is the big Summer Holiday, and falls on a Tuesday this year. My boss has given the whole office Monday off, so we will have a nice four day holiday this year. What does the 4th mean to you? Barbecue? Fireworks? Family picnics? Share a memory of a large or small family or community picnic, or perhaps let us know why the holiday makes you more patriotic. Blog Your Fourth!

14.03:  I’m promoting my new website “Clowns” and a number of people commented to me that they were afraid of clowns. One visitor asked me to “get rid of the clowns” and another didn’t like the circus music I was playing on Jukebox this Week. I’d like to know why you are afraid of clowns. One blogger gave me a specific memory of watching Stephen King’s “It” when she was young. The “Clowns” website acknowledges that clowns can be “funny and ferocious”. For this entry, write about your favorite or worst “clown experience”. If clowns scare you, tell me why.

    PLEASE READ!!!!!

A Special Note to Regular Participants: Don’t worry if you post late in the two week period. I give you two weeks (or a bit more) so that the posting period doesn’t seem too short for anyone. Don’t apologize for missing a post or two if you regularly contribute. I’m glad to have you in the ring, and don’t ever think of your membership as “work” or “something you have to do”. I would rather it be something you “want to do”. Most people in the blogring joined it, and had to be approved. Also, I always ask that you write a topic entry “in your own style”. You never have to follow the exact questions if you have a better idea.

A Special Note to “Islanders” who don’t participate, who have never visited this site, or have only participated once or twice: We’d like to see more of your participation in these posts. I read so many blogs that I can’t visit all the blogring “Islanders” each topic period to “remind” you that you belong to a participatory blogring. I’ve tried to visit you at least once to welcome you to participate. I know I’ve visited at least a half a dozen sites more than twice, and still haven’t heard a howdy from some of you. I really try to come up with interesting topics. But I don’t want to seem like I’m whining. If you don’t wish to participate, just quietly leave the blogring. I’ll even SUPPLY A LINK.  to make it easy.

YOU ONLY HAVE TO WRITE ONE TOPIC. OR MORE IF YOU WANT.  IT’S ALL UP TO YOU!

Remember, the tabs at the top of theInternet Island Blogring Page will “sort” the members by latest post, date joined,  and alphabetical Username. Use the ring page to find new Islanders, or older ones you might not have visited in a while. It’s OUR Island, and we’re a great group of people with different interests, fantastic stories, and wonderful lives, and we have a great deal of love for our fellow man.

There are no “right” or “wrong” responses to any Topic Post for Internet Island. All responses are just as valid as any other response

As usual I will try to post links to all the entries under my header on this blog so that Islanders can easily get around to visit the sites.
