Sometime
Poetry by Michael F. Nyiri

Sometime the time I spend seems so mundane and boring
Alleviating boredom with another boring time
I don’t share wonder with a woman fair while pouring
Out my heart afire with radiant stories and bad rhyme
Sometime the time ago seems better suited to my mem’ry
Alleviating boredom with a page from long ago
I only share my thoughts with certain people dimly
But nothing really satisfies my molten lava flow
I write the same song over and over
I eat the same meals alone and in silence
I try to feel happy convinced time’s a solid lover
But the truth is boring sameness, alone and in silence
Sometime the joy I feel is so heartfelt and rational
Spilling gracious wonder through the passages of time
If only I could share this wonder with somebody special
Would that be somewhat mystical, would that become a crime
Sometime the time just disappears and slips right down the drain
The days weeks years advance and no one is the wiser
I share my wonder with myself and face another day
I shout to Heaven as I step up on another riser
I sing the same song again and again
I drive the same roads in oblivion
I try to feel happy although sometime living in pain
And tell myself my colors are bright blue and not obsidian
Sometime the time is slipping away unnoticed
Sometime in the future or the past
Sometime is another time, and I am standing steadfast
Waiting for forever, sometime bears the time to last

Hi!! Just got through stopping by your previous post just a little while ago, so I’m stopping by here now, too!
That is a really great poem! I’m really fascinated with things like time travel and things relating to the past. That’s one of the reasons why I have the username I do.
Hugs!!
Shara
So many of my own thoughts and emotions are there in your writting… i am in awe to read them once again. Amazing how humans scattered across the globe have all the same feelings, all the same demons to deal with day to day. Beautiful work Mike, beautiful words, and so very true.
And thank you for the poem you shared on my page. Your words are so very true, and once again, so like all that i feel and sadly, have felt many times before in life. You speak with words about so many of the ghosts of emotions i can lay no vocabulary to. I too hope the asps depart soon. Perhaps one day they will. Perhaps one day i can trust again. Thank you, as always, for your kind and discerning words Mike.
