Click the title to see my MikeVideo Movie Beach Dreams, which is a wmv (windows media file). I had taken this video offline back when I thought I had server problems, but just put it back. I actually like this one better than my last one, Painted Desert Dreams, which has been the “featured MikeVideo” on my site for a few months now. I shot the footage for “Beach Dreams” in March of this year, when we has some unseasonably warm weather, at Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, and Bolsa Chica Beach in Orange County. I put it back online for the “end of summer”. The music is original, performed by my friend Jim Zabel and his friend Larry Waterworth. It’s an old surf tune called “Mr. Moto”. I’ve been shooting video film for my “MikeVideo” projects since 1986, when I purchased my very first camera, which was one of those heavy old VHS jobs which hooked up to a VCR you wore on your back. The battery weighed about 25 pounds. It was very difficult to shoot video this way, before they even invented camcorders.
The “MikeVideo” section of the AllThingsMike website has been online since the beginning, (1999) pretty much as you see it now. A lot of the links to “movies” don’t work now, because the websites and servers I originally used to store the individual videos have since gone out of business. I have plans for at least four more short “MikeVideo” internet movies, but they take time to construct, and take up a lot of space on my computer while I’m constructing them. I’ve got footage from Renaissance Faires, music from the Scottish Festival, and many video images I take with my current digital camcorder at the same time I snap the photos for the Webshots Gallery. Even before there was an AllThingsMike website, there were MikeVideo movies. Some of the originals are lost forever, having been recorded on BETA 1 tape, but I still have them, in case I ever come across a tape player that can play them. Hope you enjoy this “older” video I shot, “Beach Dreams”, which has been offline for a while. It is only about 4 minutes long, and should open in a Windows Media Player when you click the title. Depending upon the computer you have, you should probably disable (shut off) the background music I have on the Jukebox This Week feature, or else the two soundtracks will both play at the same time.”Beach Dreams” is pretty high quality too, so you should be able to play it full screen with no trouble at all. Enjoy.

Nice. So you’ve been writing poetry for a long long time I see. Well, I have a few very lengthy posts somewhere back in my old posts concerning the cultural position of poetry nowadays, a la Dana Gioia, if you’re aware of his polemics (if you can call it that) concerning poetry. I think it would be interesting to discuss poetry with someone as apparently prolific as yourself. Peace.:coolman:
Hi Mike!!
Oh, wow!! That is soooo cool! Very impressive! Gosh, I’ve wanted to a Renaissance Faire, but I haven’t gotten the chance to as of yet. Who knows when or if I’ll ever be able to go to one though, but they definitely look like they’d be sooo awesome to attend someday!
Thanks for sharing all this here!! You should be really proud of yourself for everything you’ve accomplished!! You go, Mike!!:goodjob:
Hugs!!

Hi Mike!
It’s me again really quick! Thank you for your kind words at my site. I really appreciate it! Well, right now, we have gotten very light rain and light wind in our area here, but people further South in Mississippi got some really strong stuff last night is what I heard.
I hope your co-worker’s family is doing okay! Wow, it’s a miracle it missed Louisiana like that, but it got Alabama though really rough. I hope and pray everything will be better soon. One never knows how those hurricanes will do next!
Gosh, it sounds sooo hot out there where you are! It gets hot and humid here in the South during the summer months, but I can’t stay outside for very long amounts of time at all in the heat. I nearly melt, and I can’t tan. It’s really something, but the only time I’ve ever had a tan was whenever I used the sunless lotion stuff. It appears to be a tan, but it’s not like a real one though.
Awww, thanks.
Glad you liked how I arranged my Xanga site, but it really didn’t take that long. I already had some of the stuff on my personal web pages, so I just uploaded it and arranged it on Xanga, too.
I love how you’ve arranged your website here, too! I’ve always loved clouds! They’re heavenly!
Thanks again for stopping by! Hope you have a super day over there!
Hugs!

I use the webshots sites to send a lot of the photos as ecards. There are some really nice ones there. You might want to touch base w/ our non-fiction editor, Barry. He’s quite a photographer too.

hey, much thanks for your comments on my xanga. I haven’t heard any one use “namaste” in forever! Ah, that brings back memories. Anyway…i have about 4 rather lengthy posts on poetry further back there somewhere… all titled “Poetry. [Pt. 1]” through Pt. 4. Or was it 3? I can’t remember haha. But yeah, they’re there. I’ll make sure to check out ElectricPoetry. Peace!
