Armed Art Thieves Steal Munch’s ‘The Scream’
OSLO (Reuters) – Armed robbers stole “The Scream” and another masterpiece by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch on Sunday in a bold daytime raid on an Oslo museum in front of dozens of terrified tourists.
Two masked robbers ran into the Munch Museum, threatened staff with a handgun and forced people to lie down before grabbing “The Scream,” an icon of existential angst showing a waif-like figure against a blood-red sky, and “Madonna (news – web sites).”
Some stunned visitors said they feared they were victims of a terror attack. The men simply walked out the front door — with one painting bumping on the ground — and escaped in a stolen black Audi car driven by a third man, police said.
I’m sitting up. That’s good news. I’m not at work. That’s not so good news. I’ve been “out sick” for a total of three days now, owning to this incredible pain that just doesn’t seem to go away. I can’t really “do” anything anyway, since I seem to have to go lie down every hour or so when I’m attempting to “sit down” at either the computer, or in my easy chair. Even the easy chair isn’t “easy”. I’m using the medicines, and trying not to worry. This morning, I wondered aloud, “I hope this ends soon.” I’ve often heard of people suffering from sciatica, which is affliction of the largest nerve in the body, so what I have pinched can’t be THAT bad, now, can it? I’m now getting “used to the pain” so much, that perhaps tomorrow I shall go into work. Just to see if I can drive the distance. My muscles in my left hand and arm are seeming to lose their grip, as it were. I’m noticing that right now while typing.
I thought I’d put up a “funny foto” today, to add a little levity to my blog, since it’s been quite “painful” the past few days. Well, I think I’ll stop typing now, as I’m hurting a bit more. Got to go lie down. The pain almost recedes completely when I lie down. I just went out to eat. The car ride is only about six blocks, and driving to the restaurant hurt, but driving back was tolerable. (However this tingling sensation as I type is very uncomfortable.) I’ll be okay. This can’t be too serious. It seems like my whole life has just “stopped” because of this pain, this relentless pain. I might have to go on disability but I don’t even want to think about that.
If anyone sees the painting “The Scream” advertised on Ebay, don’t bid on it. Call Oslo immediately!

:sunny: funny story…the talk of the day I see…hope all is well with your main management
:sunny: saw this on the news!!
Creative!! Creative in spite of the pain. Get better soon.
I have been watching this story…..they say the thieves most likely didn’t even have a fence. As everyone on the i’net says——WTF!? You have to have a buyer before you steal something like this. You don’t just wake up one day and say,”shit, I feel like robbing a museum.”
Anyhow, hope you start feeling better someday. There is one good thing about pain—when(if) it leaves….it leaves a man feeling reborn.
