Just a short note tonight, as it is already almost nine pm and of course another wonderful workday tomorrow. I won’t post the whole kit and kaboodle here, but here is a link to the latest piece of “Presentation Poetry” I have created on my website. The Poem is called “Beauteous Destruction” and was written tonight after I witnessed, from the vantage point of being about 40 miles away in Long Beach, the beginning salvo of a new forest fire. The sky was a cloudless bright blue today, and the billowing smoke rising in the almost windless summer sky reminded me of either an atom bomb or a volcano eruption. I have one of the photos I took of the “firestorm” before it spread and the whole sky above the foothills turned black. Fantastic image I will never forget.
