The Cultural Blender movie presents a selection of images, video, music, and soundbytes celebrating some of the "icons" in the Cultural Blender. This is my latest "masterpiece' and took over a month to put together. Icons include Shirley Temple, Coca Cola, Napster, John Wayne, Jesus Christ, Elvis, John F. Kennedy, the lunar landing, Star Trek, Howdy Doody, The Lone Ranger, Davy Crockett, Marilyn Monroe, Arnold Schwarzenegger, cigarette advertising, Richard M. Nixon, and the Smiley face.

Well Mike, I must admit that it's a pretty damn good production for amature stuff. I know that because I watched the whole thing, right through the last credit line. (Normally I'd have clicked the "Back key" after a few seconds.) I do, however, have one question. How did you ever come up with the title "Cultural Blender?" There are certainly some memories from two or three generations; but they all come from the While American Culture. What of Black memories? Native American? Eruopean? Arab? Asian? and soforth. Or do you intend to cover some of those with Parts 2 and 3.

Michael, this is great! Even though you and I are from different generations, the Cultural Blender movie shows that some cultural icons have transcended the gap. Could it be that each one of us a cultural blender - blending and mixing our own experiences to make us who we are? For instance, my own Cultural Blender would include the Lone Ranger and Coca-cola, but with a lot more "techno" music, professional wrestling, and a young Jedi named Luke. Plus, the time spent on Jesus would be far more than that spent on Marilyn... but then, for me, Jesus is much more than a cultural icon. :D Anyways... I love it! Well done, my friend. Steve

Funny how Jesus came after John Wayne but before Elvis; Marilyn made me cry; Arnold made me laugh; smiley made me hum. Very nice And what an incredible amount of work this must have taken. I can't imagine the time spent on animation alone! Buenisimo!

This was quite a video, Mike. It took me down memory lane, a long way back. Loved the Betty Crocker lead in. I think the very first advertisement I remember vividly was the Philip Morris All Call sound played a lot over the radio. They didn't have the cigarette controversy when radio was my main source of professional entertainments. The Philip Morris sound runs thru my mind periodically. I know the time spent on your video had to be a whopping lot of hours. I've wondered how you found all the sound tracks. Really quite a mix of memories from Elvis to Star Trek to Marilyn to JFK and Arnold and Howdy Doodie, I remember it all. I've watched thru it several times and can't find a memory I am unfamiliar with. Some of the Marilyn photos are not familiar. Betty Boop and Shirley Temple I was introduced to as repeats to their fame, they are a little older than myself, not a lot but older. I've enjoyed your video. I need to purchase some of what you have reminded me of, for ins
