• Remembering Xanga: Part 5: Top Blog Comment String

  

  I've been posting some of my humorous Xangacentric entries over the past week or so, in remembrance of when I was a lot more active on this service. The "Top Blog comment string" shot to the top of top blogs back on September 26th, 2010.  

  Have you ever noticed that sometimes it seems you are reading the same comment string over and over again. Especially if you get your kicks from reading the top of the top blogs comment strings.

  Well, I thought I'd save you the trouble, and I've created, in the spirit of those old Mad Magazine parody generic magazine articles that were popular back when I was in school, a "generic Top Blog comment string." Now this isn't specific to any one blogger. Most of the comment strings are somewhat interchangeable. In no way are any of the Xangan usernames supposed to be parroting any "real" Xanga usernames. (Let's see how long it takes this entry to be noticed in the Xangasphere. I'll be watching Boardwalk Empire and Dexter, then I'll come back to check my own comment string. ) Sometimes, like with the Xangapediaposts or the Xanxiety comix, I've hit on something which the "general population" of Xanga (who are NOT sheep, don't let anyone tell you otherwise) seem to flock to, er, I mean, enjoy.

  So, lets say you've read the Top Blog, you've made your opinion or observation, and now you want to read the comments above yours.

  It's all been said before. But I agree with you. I'd try to have a meaningful conversation, and if it didn't work, then I'd look the other way, I guess. Your writing is always inspiring.

  Dear Xangan,
  It is my considered opinion that whatever stance one seems to take, someone is going to get hurt. Although the prose is perfection, and the poetry is verbose, the usual suspects cannot be trusted.I can remember back about 42 years ago this happened to me. I was not only upset, but I had to get out of traffic and take a breather.
