Mother Departed This Afternoon
Poetry by Michael F. Nyiri
Sat. Dec. 3, 2005 7:47 a.m.
Mother departed this afternoon
We had so much to say
But she left us too soon
No matter how long one lives
Or short on this Earth
When closing the door
We will feel their whole worth
Jesus will part the curtain for entrance
And one long look back on the stair
We will wave with exuberance
Gaze through the distance
And pray with a power
In our hearts she’ll be there
In memory’s bower
With lasting pure love
As our tears finally dry
But they don’t
We will join her in time
And we know she is better
But this nagging
Harsh grief
Stop it won’t

Dearest Lisa,
I am filled with love and heartache, and I pray for you and yours.
My deepest condolences.
Love,
Michael
One of the terrible drawbacks of having so many subscriptions is that I sometimes do not visit as often as I would like, and sometimes get a shock when I visit a site. This morning I visited Lisa’s (Ladyblue1) and received the news that her mother passed away on Nov. 27 at 4:02 in the afternoon. Lisa was the person who “turned me on” to Xanga, she is the first to subscribe to me and she was my first subscription, and without her, I wouldn’t even have a blog here. I love you Lisa, and my gift is my song. I haven’t been able to stop the tears. Great hugs and prayers to you and your family.

What a beautiful tribute to Lisa and the loss of her mother. You’re a good friend….
Great tribute, Mike.
Beautiful poem.
Oh how sad too, to lose a mother.
I know how you feel as well. sometimes we get so busy we lose momentarily the people that we care about so much. and it is amazing what can happen in just a few days.
Beautiful poem! :sunny: (O/) :sunny:Angels:heartbeat:
Lisa will understand your lateness. RYC: I answered you at my place. Thanks for every word. Even if I don’t agree with about a third of them. Okay, maybe a tenth. My gut feeling is that I agree with about nine-tenths of what you say. (Subject to revision at unpredictable times.)
Mike,
Your poem took my breath and then gave it back. If I could dole out double eprops to you, today I would.
BE blessed!
