  The Betty Boop Pages site is being overhauled this weekend. The "original" site, which is on the Homestead server, is created using the Homestead "sitebuilder" software, and I want to costruct it in Dreamweaver, so I am "redesigning" and will soon be taking it's original address down. I am beginning to transfer the images, which are sort of haphazardly displayd on the original site anyway, to a new address: http://www.allthingsmike.com/BettyBoop/ I have two pages up already, and have created four or five new images, including the one above, which is composited from a photo I shot at the Getty, a Boop collectible porcelain doll, from my Danbury Mint collection, and the television image I got from the web. The image of Betty on the TV is an actual "capture" from one of her cartoons, from a VHS tape. Click on the image and the full size one opens in another window.

  
  

  

  
  

  This is also a new image, a simple two part composite. The Bagel stand is in my "Glendora"webshots folder, and the drawing of Betty is from a capture from one of her cartoons. I did the drawing two years ago, but just now put it in front of some "background".

  
  

  

  
  

  This image of "Astronaut Betty" was one of the first composite images on The Betty Boop Pages in 2001. I only pasted her "head" which is a photo of one of my collectible figurines, inside the helmet, and added the cartoon logo of Betty opening the curtains in the background.

  
  

  

  
  

  This is a new one, just created yesterday, and on the "Feature" page of the original site. I usually "update" The Betty Boop Pages once a year now, but ths year I'm really doing it justice, with a complete new website design. The above composite uses a Betty cartoon image, a Danbury Collectible of Boop Liberty, Betty in the gown was taken from the web. The clouds and the flowers are from my photography.

  
  

  

  
  

  Here is the second of the "cartoon images" utilizing a drawn Betty copied from one of the images in one of her cartoons. I then pasted it on a photo of a park in Long Beach, and astute readers will notice the cottage is a birdhouse at the Arboretum.

  
  

  

  
  

  This composite was created last Summer, and was the last image on the main page of The Betty Boop Pages site for a year. It includes a porcelain doll colletible, with a superimposed magazine cover and the background is from my photos.

  
  

  I've learned a lot of what the image editing program can do by "manufacturing" these composites, both for "The Betty Boop Pages," and for AllThingsMike in general, and of course they show up all the time on this blog.  It never ceases to amaze me that almost enything I can dream up, I can "present" in detail and hopefully with artistic intent.

  
  

  My own personal favorite of these is the first one, which I made last night. Notice Koko the Clown (one of Betty's "early" friends from the cartoons, along with Bimbo.) entering the room from the extreme right. It almost looks like Betty is strolling down the center of the room.
