• You Should Have Watched the MikeVideo ”ElvisMovies Before it Completely Disappeared!

  
  

  (AllThingsMike/ElectricMovies)   I am in a bit of a quandry this afternoon, as I ponder the state of my website. I am using over the 250MB allotted by my server, at ValueWeb, which means I have to “streamline” the site again. The first large file which shall go is going to be the MikeVideo “ElvisMovies”. This is a little “film” I put on the ElectricMovies portion of the Website. The “webpage” which shows a Flash animation and has music was linked to, but I just took it down, in order to send some new stuff to the web.

  ElvisMovies was an experiment utilizing Flash animation, a windows media file, and text to present an amalgam of the 37 films in which Elvis Presley starred throughout the sixties. This is the Flash animation and there is music accompanying the animation on the webpage. I also created an actual “movie” using clips recorded off the Tivo.

  
  

  I included a link to the actual wmv file for a while, which could  be played in Windows Media Player. It’s off the web now, temporarily. Besides, the beginning moments are sort of messed up, because I didn’t overlap the opening credits “music” with the beginning of the clip, so there are “competing” sounds for about 5 seconds until Elvis starts talking. If any of my “readers” like this and think others might be interested, let them know that it is being featured on my blog for at least a week, and then I shall remove it from my server, so I can update my 250MB website without having it crash my ftp program!

  
  

  (Edit: 7/26: For some reason on my puter at work this post scrolls horizontally. I have edited about four times now, but can’t seem to make the horizontal scrolling disappear. I even removed the post, and the problem remained. So sorry if this is an inconvenience. (It’s rather upsetting to me, as it destroys the look of the site. Oh, well. Edit: 7/29: Sorry, but there wasn’t too much interest, and I needed the space so this one is off my server right now. )
