  • I saw Michael Moore’s “Farenheight 9/11″ today. I have never seen a documentary with as packed an audience. Granted, they were all liberals with a heavy partisan slant in favor of whatever Moore is going to say (like me) even going into the theater. There was APPLAUSE at the end of the film, for heaven sakes. But this looks to perhaps be the big moneymaker this weekend. war

Michael outdoes himself in this “alternate history” of the 21st Century. Beginning with the “Gore Victory” in the last election, and creepily seeming like it must have just been edited last night and beamed to the theater today, this is the most “ripped from the headlines” film I have ever seen. It does play like a documentary movie, and not a television show. Moore uses humor, found footage, behind the scenes satellite footage, and less of his own brash “in your face” filmmaking than ever before in his career. This film gets 10 of 10 on the Mikometer. I made the image of the “Armageddon Game” in 2003 right as we were going into Iraq. I have always said that George Bush had conversations with his dad before he even attained the presidency, and George Sr. told Jr. that he had to “Go Back To Iraq” and correct the mistake Sr. made by not killing Saddam back in ’91. Bush’s Number One Priority was to Invade Iraq and tumble Saddam’s regime. Moore makes the liberal case for being against this mindless “war” with a brash gusto. When I was liberal in my views after the “attacks” and questioned going into the mideast in the first place, all the country at that point seemed to be Republicans, and I was the pariah on internet message boards for preaching Peace. Now Moore is filling auditoriums saying the same things.

He will be derided, or course, by the same media he lacerates in the film, but he is largely right, as I was when I questioned the sanity of sending our young deluded sons and daughters into a maelstrom in the first place, that can, essentially be compared with VietNam.

  • I havent see the movie yet but I support your position on the issues of our forign policy…
I have a very bad feeling about this war.

  • I agree with you “Bald Mike”. There was no reason for us to go to war with Iraq. I was of that view even before the war started. At that time many of my colleagues did not agree with me. Now most of them are saying that it was a mistake to go to war with Iraq. I have not seen the movie yet.

Now please check out my Xanga site. I write about lighter things in life (mostly). In my old age I have discovered that laughter is indeed the best medicine.

  • I decided to follow your example and look through some older blogs. Love some of the older content. This one particularly stood out as funny(with the picture) as well as interesting , and insightful to the past.
