Just added the “jig” to the site. I don’t know whether or not I like the music playing all the time. There isn’t a place to “turn it off” like the music pages on my regular website that I design myself. Oh well, time to go to WORK and start another busy week. I’ll probably nix the music idea when I get home. I can see this Xanga endeavor will be addictive to me, like a shiny new toy, at least for a while. It is the best blog program I’ve signed on to or used in the past year or so. The “interaction” feature is really neat.
Here is my “Financial Advice” to myself for this week: 1. No $35.00 lunches, keep it down to under 10 bucks, let 15 bucks be a splurge. (6/23: The money has been well spent.) 2. No beer until at least Friday. (6/23: I NEEDED some, okay. Fell off the wagon on Wed..)3. Call SBC Yahoo about sending Cancerboy a separtate DSL modem so we can “split the diff” on the internet charges.(6/23: Been there done that, and had to wait on the phone “all of our operators are busy. Whistle dixie till the cows come home, and maybe somebody will pick this up in an hour or so. I repeat, all of our operators are busy…..) till my ear hurt. Try again.) 4. Send out this month’s check to Chase Manhattan so they don’t call again and ruin my morning. (6/23: Done.)5. No more DVD’s on credit. 6. Use credit to keep the subscription for Xanga, which is a good deal at $25.00 and just purchase the yearly subscription at least for now, because Homestead will want their $100.00 next month. 7. Don’t use the Bankcard this week AT ALL.(6/23: Lie twice already, but hey, I’m trying.) If the cash slips to a negative amount, use the change drawer. There’s at least a ten spot worth of quarters, and that should cover one lunch. 8. Scrounge for newspapers at least twice this week. That’ll save a buck. Eat at the cafe with the pile of papers. 9. Call DirecTV about getting Cancerboy his own feed, so I can move the Tivo into the media room, and hopefully not watch so many rented DVD’s. Shame to spend 60 bucks a month on DirecTV and not utilize the service.
Joel has been home with the cancer for three months. It hasn’t been bad (for either of us) at all. He isn’t “sick” yet, and with the two separated “living rooms” we don’t get on each other’s nerves. I wonder if he will use the internet as much as I do when he gets his computer. If he does, and it’s in his room, then maybe I don’t have to get a second feed for the DirecTV. I’m somewhat afraid that even though they try to lure new customers by giving away “a three room system” existing long time customers (like me) pay through the nose to enable them to offer freebies to the new customers. I don’t think they’ll EVER offer a Tivo feature with HDTV, so just seeing that I rent so many movies to watch on the HDTV in the media room, while the other bigscreen gets used mostly by Joel (at my expense) is starting to bother me.
July is coming up. It’s been a good year so far at work. Perhaps a Fourth of July party and a BONUS are coming up, like in the good old days of the 90s? By writing down my wishes, I have probably hexed the possibility. Well, it’s 6:12am, and time for my walk. I’m “editing this post” from work, something I have to begin in earnest, as I just heard the door to the warehouse open and close which means people , John, anyway, are starting to get here.
(I just noticed that my “cloud” links on the left don’t work on IE which I use at work, so I shall have to redesign the links section. When the mouseovers didn’t appear on the Yahoo browser it didn’t matter much, but anyone who “visits” here with IE6 will get a “debug” message, which means the “webmaster”, i.e., me, doesn’t have proper code on his page. I can disable it right now if I want to, but I’ll wait till tonight. This has turned out to be a mammoth diary entry for just a few quick jots prior to working.)

It’s funny how the Xanga page know exactly how much you need to get out. That is where the addicive quality lies for me.
Thanx for the comment on my site! I wish I was talented enough to write the html for my site-I can only do the basics. I got it through Xanga skins-someone else wrote it and I adapted it to my site. I would definitely spring for the Xanga premium-it’s worth it!
I use to have (well I guess I still have it) a site at blogger but like you I like the interaction friendly design here at xanga. At Blogger I felt like A, limited because you can’t recieve/give comments and B, totally alone because it just feels like no one is there.
Poet, philospher, fool. You may the smartest person yet.
A.
To my own point of view the most part of what you state may be good
